The Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack is a unique inter-agency coalition formed in 2010 to address the problem of targeted attacks on education during armed conflicts. It brings together organizations from the fields of education in emergencies and conflict-affected fragile states, higher education, protection, international human rights, and international humanitarian law. Partners with CARA in this initiative include UNESCO, UNHCR, UNICEF, Human Rights Watch, Save the Children International, Education Above All (Qatar), Scholars at Risk, and the International Institute of Education, as well as many country-specific NGOs.
CARA has been involved from GCPEA's inception, and currently serves on the Steering Committee and as a member of the Higher Education Group.
