There are currently 39 universities that have committed their institutions to the aims of the Cara Scholars at Risk UK Universities Network. To ensure institutional ownership, Network membership is established through the university’s Senior Management with the endorsement of the Vice Chancellor. Universities wishing to join the Network should write to Cara’s Executive, Secretary Professor John Akker, stating their institutional commitment to the aims of the Network; providing the name and contact details of one or more senior faculty members to represent the institution on the Network and be responsible for the dissemination Network material within the university; and provide an undertaking to actively consider a future hosting of a refugee academic or scholar at risk.
