CARA has recently launched a Virtual Lecture Hall (VLH) at the University of Zimbabwe . Click here to read more about the launch.
The purpose of this project is to enable 'Virtual Lectures’ to be streamed in from around the world, to support the College of Health Science and the Faculties of Science and Veterinary Science in the areas that are currently lacking teaching staff, or could benefit from engagement with the diaspora and/or international partnerships.
The 'Life Size' video conferencing equipment has been installed in a lecture hall at the University of Zimbabwe and is fully functional and ready to receive lectures from abroad. With a screen, a number of speakers, and the necessary bandwidth in place, students and lecturers will be able to view the lecture slides and faces of those participating from outside Zimbabwe.
Academics, Zimbabwean and non Zimbabwean, who wish to be involved should contact CARA's Zimbabwe team with details of their teaching background in the Health, Natural and Veterinary Sciences and where they are based.
If you are already committed to lecturing a relevant course elsewhere, your lectures could be streamed simultaneously into the CARA/Econet Lecture Hall. - For those who would be keen to lecture from their home lap top (+ camera), there are licences that will enable you to engage with this programme via an IP address. Please contact us for more details.
The lectures being ‘streamed’ into Zimbabwe will be regarded as supplementary material. The involvement will not entail a change of timetables, the change of syllabus, or the marking of exams.
If you would like to engage with the VLH project, or have any questions in relation to it, please contact us on email@example.com or 0207 021 0880.
