FUNDRAISING APPEAL FOR ZIMBABWE'S ACADEMICS AND HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM

We appeal to all those who are concerned for the future of Zimbabwe and its higher education system, which was once one of the best university systems in the world. Academics who have remained in Zimbabwe, and those in the diaspora, are making dedicated efforts to learn – and teach others – under very difficult circumstances. They need our help to ensure that their special knowledge and abilities can best contribute to the rebuilding of Zimbabwe and its education system. Zimbabwe’s teachers and academics have world class talent – but they need our help.

Investing in Zimbabwe’s academics is an investment in a global future and your donations will help CARA to:

Award grants to health and science related faculties at universities in Zimbabwe, to provide training and development opportunities for younger academic staff, through the purchase of equipment, teaching resources and access to e-journals.  

Award fellowships to academics in the diaspora, enabling them to up-skill, re-engage with academia and identify areas in their home country where they could advance social well being with their academic expertise and experience.

Develop another Virtual Lecture Hall in one of Zimbabwe's universities, enabling academics in the diaspora to support those faculties struggling to provide the education Zimbabwe's next generation need and deserve, through 'video conference' lectures, and seminars.
